Palma Aquarium is………. a tribute to nature…
Palma Aquarium is a spectacular marine park which faithfully recreates the underwater world and is the result of one man’s all-consuming passion for nature’s largest remaining enigma.
In addition to their existing marine centres in Israel, Australia and Hawaii and at a cost of over €50,000,000, Coral World International were proud to open the doors to their newest marine park in 2007 for visitors to be captivated and enchanted by the displays and their amazing inhabitants. The philosophy is simple: to develop an understanding and admiration for the natural beauty of the marine world by promoting knowledge, respect and conservation.
Palma Aquarium is………. a place for everyone
Since being showcased Palma Aquarium has developed rapidly into one of the biggest and most popular attractions in the Balearic region due to its diversity.
Discover A world of discovery is at the fingertips of the whole family. The 55 aquariums house an exceptional example of flora and fauna from the Mediterranean Sea and the Indian, Atlantic and Pacific Oceans. The aquarium has five enormous zones – Old World, New World, Mediterranean Gardens, The Jungle and Big Blue – each offering its own unique portrayal of life from that region.
Interact Get involved in learning more about the worlds sea creatures by using the interactive touch-pools. Under the supervision and guidance of the Ocean Guides visitors can touch, feed and get closer to the marine life than ever before.
Come rain or shine Most people’s understanding of aquariums is that they are all dark, gloomy indoor places. Surprisingly, Palma Aquarium is as far from this perception as is possible. The Mediterranean Gardens are vast and have many areas to sit back, relax and catch those all-important holiday sun rays. Kids don’t have time to get bored as they are bombarded with a constant flow of fun-packed sun-filled entertainment by the resident animation team. Water fights, pirate ship, face-painting and splash-jets are just some of the outdoor activities that all come free as part of the Palma Aquarium experience and are guaranteed to leave a lasting impression and fond memories.
Like no other While at Palma Aquarium not only will you have a fantastic day out but you will also witness some incredible things. The awe-inspiring Big Blue Shark Aquarium is the deepest shark tank in Europe at an astonishing 8.5 metres and is home to our largest animals – the 3m Sand-tiger sharks. The Jungle, which replicates the Amazon basin, is the largest roof-top jungle in all Europe. At a small extra cost you can dive with the stingrays in the gardens with our Underwater Experience with Rays activity where we supply all clothing and equipment on site. If you’re really brave, and hold a full diving license, you can even go scuba diving in the Big Blue Shark Tank. We are also home to the world’s largest Bluefin Tuna conservation exhibition at 400m2. The entire park has also been specifically designed to be fully accessible for all levels of disabled persons and their mobility.
